Vow
In learning to appreciate what we’ve got, therein lies wisdom.
A better wisdom than having one’s work destroyed
at a mere flick of a switch can ever teach.
I know not how much I have lost
through recklessness and neglect,
but it is my vow today
on this apparently beautiful notebook
and on its pristine pages
that what will be written here
shall not be squandered
shall not be forgotten.
This is my vow, made with full intent to keep,
unless of course this book too goes amiss…
in which case these words were never written.
