The time that is given to us
All we have to decide
is what to do
with the time
that is given to us.
And I have to admit…
so much of it
has gotten away from me
already.
Slipping through my fingers,
like grains of fine sand
falling to the ground.
That is why
I now take up the pen
and why you
now hear my voice.
Because there’s a time to give
and a time to take
and it’s about time
I started giving.
