Raining in Dublin

The cobwebs are clearing

out of my mind

I wish I had something to say.

It may not be easy,

it may not be so,

but I just… can’t seem… to let go.

Travelling covertly, miles away

to whence, I know I can’t stay.

I wish you were here

I wish I could stay

I wish it were anew

but then wishing just gets old.

Endlessly waiting

for time that flies by.

I know I don’t know what I want.

I need consolation

but leave me alone

success, remorse… it’s no good.

And I just keep saying

I don’t say what I want.

It’s raining in Dublin now, maybe,

but everything else stays the same.
