Leave your ego at the door

Everybody, alike in their differences,

who they are, what they are,

sometimes united in dreams,

sometimes divided by life.

Why then, I wonder

do we sometimes consider ourselves superior

and drive others asunder,

judging by ex- before interior?

Out competition, our strife,

compels us forward, ever forward

to our certain downfall

and the undoing of us all.

Hence, I hereby kindly suggest

to be equal to others, truly.

Not by actions, but by heart;

a virtuous virtue.

We all already consider ourselves superior.

Maybe one day we will be.
